Photo op with a Beautiful Petrified Wood Building
The roofless shell of an old service station made of petrified wood can be found on the east side of Glen Rose, about 1/4 mile south of the intersection of Highways 144 and 67 on Old Hwy 67. Known as "Ed Young's Service Station", or "Outlaw Service Station", or "Sycamore Grove", the structure was built in the 1920's during the prohibition era. It has been said that the station sold more "moonshine" than gasoline. The old station is one of the area's most photographed attractions.
